Kave Home has selected TGW Logistics to automate a new logistics centre in Tordera, near Barcelona. Scheduled to go live at the end of 2028, the facility will support the furniture and home décor retailer’s e-commerce, store and B2B operations.
The system is designed around a broad product range, from 400 x 300mm packages to bulky goods measuring up to 2,400 x 1,200mm. It will combine miniload technology, automated high-bay storage, autonomous mobile robots and automated palletising.
Goods from a miniload area, pallet warehouse and double-pallet warehouse will be brought together in one palletising zone. Conveyors, Cartesian palletising and depalletising robots, and Quba mobile robots for pallets and roll cages will form the core material-handling system. Storage areas will reach up to 25 metres in height, with ergonomic picking stations providing automated palletising and wrapping.
Once operational, the site is expected to process up to 21,000 packages per day and provide 93,000 pallet positions. That is more than twice Kave Home’s current storage capacity and is intended to support growth across its sales channels while improving delivery performance and picking accuracy.
Kave Home, headquartered in Girona, operates in more than 80 countries through online sales, physical stores, marketplaces and B2B channels. Its network includes more than 100 points of sale.
CEO Francesc Julià said TGW was an important partner in developing the project. TGW representatives Anselm Bolea and Albert Vidal said the companies had been working on the solution for several months.
