Girteka has agreed to purchase 900 Mercedes-Benz Actros L ProCabin trucks, extending its long-standing relationship with Daimler Truck. The deal was concluded at IAA Transportation in Hannover.
The operator expects 500 trucks to join its fleet during 2026, with a further 900 scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2027. The order forms part of an ongoing renewal programme for Girteka’s European operations.
Girteka owns approximately 6,500 trucks, making it Europe’s largest asset-based road transport fleet. Replacing vehicles at this scale is intended to support service reliability, safety and operating efficiency, while also improving the working environment for drivers.
The Actros L ProCabin vehicles include driver-assistance systems designed to monitor surroundings, identify potential hazards and provide support in critical situations within their operating limits. Girteka says the technology is particularly relevant to its temperature-controlled and high-value transport activities, where consistency is important.
Girteka Group CEO Edvardas Liachovičius said cooperation with major manufacturers helps the company introduce newer technology and maintain the reliability expected by customers. Mercedes-Benz Trucks CEO Achim Puchert said the order reinforced the companies’ shared focus on safer and more efficient long-haul transport.
For Girteka, the investment links fleet capacity with road safety and driver conditions rather than treating renewal solely as an asset replacement exercise.
