Air France KLM Martinair Cargo is expanding its Perishables Centre at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport with automated storage for temperature-sensitive freight. The investment is designed to increase capacity and improve the movement of pharmaceuticals, perishables and other controlled-temperature shipments through the facility.
The cargo operator is installing an elevating transfer vehicle (ETV) supplied by Lödige Industries. The 10-foot-wide edge vehicle will serve 58 storage decks, with 17 positioned inside temperature-controlled zones.

Automated retrieval and put-away will make greater use of the centre’s existing building volume, while reducing manual handling and supporting more consistent internal cargo flows. Air France KLM Martinair Cargo expects the system to help it manage rising volumes more efficiently at CDG.
Lödige Machine Warburg and Lödige Machine Romania are supplying the installation. Operations are scheduled to begin at the end of September 2027.
