GLS to launch Danish fulfilment operation in Kolding

GLS is entering Denmark’s fulfilment market with a new centre in Kolding. The facility will provide warehousing, picking, packing and parcel delivery for small and medium-sized online retailers through an integrated operation.

The site will open with 5,000 square metres of fulfilment space and can expand to 15,000 square metres, alongside 550 square metres of administration space. It is expected to be ready before the 2027 peak season.

Located at Trianglen, about two kilometres from the GLS Denmark hub, the centre will use a semi-automated operating model. Planned equipment includes an AutoStore automated storage system and an automated sorting belt, supporting higher volumes while reducing manual handling.

The short distance to the hub is intended to connect prepared orders directly with GLS’s national parcel network. For e-commerce businesses, the model brings inventory, fulfilment and delivery under one logistics arrangement. Corporate information is available from GLS.

Kolding is part of a wider expansion of GLS fulfilment services that began in 2023. The group already operates centres in Germany, Hungary, Spain, Slovenia and Canada. The Danish investment is expected to create around 30 jobs and gives GLS Denmark additional capacity to support online retailers as demand develops.
