Clustag has launched COS Tunnel, an open-architecture RFID tunnel for automated verification of boxes, bags and parcels on existing conveyor lines.
The over-conveyor system is intended for distribution centres where major modifications or conveyor shutdowns would be difficult to justify. It can be configured by width, height and operating layout, giving logistics operators a way to introduce RFID while preserving much of the existing installation.
Clustag’s R&D team developed a system that controls RFID wave emission and the reading zone, concentrating reads in the parcel transit area. Data is handled through the ZENTUP capture platform and can be connected to WMS, ERP, WCS and WES environments.
Applications include inbound receiving, outbound shipment validation and ecommerce order preparation. Configuration takes account of conveyor speed, parcel density, spacing between boxes and working conditions. The company unveiled the product at RAIN in Action Madrid 2026.
COS Tunnel complements rather than replaces Clustag’s MOT Station. The new system is positioned for flexible, rapid deployment, while MOT Station remains aimed at operations requiring maximum accuracy, a controlled RFID environment and validation in critical scenarios.
For operators, the distinction supports different adoption models: high-assurance RFID for demanding processes, or a lower-impact route for progressively automating existing logistics infrastructure.
