Ann Summers adds InPost lockers as a delivery option

Ann Summers customers can now choose delivery to an InPost Locker when placing an online order. The service offers 48-hour delivery, customer-selected collection locations and the option to pick up parcels at a convenient time.

The alternative is aimed at shoppers who may not want deliveries sent to a shared home, university accommodation or a family address. It can also support gift purchases and customers who prefer collection to doorstep delivery.

Orders can be returned through InPost’s network of more than 16,000 lockers. That gives shoppers an out-of-home route for both receipt and return, without requiring a collection from a residential address.

InPost’s research found that almost 60% of people in Britain experience delivery-related stress, while consumers spend an average of 3.2 hours each month waiting at home for parcels. Locker delivery is intended to give recipients more control over the final handover.

The partnership links Ann Summers’ focus on customer choice with InPost’s parcel-locker infrastructure. More information about Ann Summers and InPost is available from the companies.

Ann Summers chief executive Maria Hollins said the service extends the retailer’s emphasis on choice into delivery. Jon Nicholson, InPost UK’s chief commercial officer, said delivery options are becoming an important part of the wider shopping experience.

The launch reflects the expanding role of out-of-home delivery in ecommerce. Home delivery remains available, but locker collection gives retailers another way to match fulfilment with different customer routines.
