Ferrovalle has selected Inform’s Syncrotess Optimization Plus platform for a Smart Yard project at its Mexico City intermodal terminal. The system is scheduled to go live in June 2027 and will support yard, equipment and train planning.
Syncrotess will operate alongside Ferrovalle’s existing terminal operating system. It will use data from current systems to produce continually updated recommendations for container storage, equipment deployment and train loading and discharge.
Ferrovalle handled about 550,000 TEUs in 2025, making its intermodal division one of Latin America’s largest inland operations. The initial deployment covers eight RTG cranes, four reach stackers and 14 terminal tractors. The operator is targeting higher equipment throughput, more billable moves and improved service performance for trucks and trains.
The software combines Inform’s Yard, Crane, Vehicle and Train Load Optimizers. Integration will exchange train consist information, load plans, container status, clearance data and operational updates. The project must accommodate both customs-cleared and customs-controlled yards, along with different processes for maritime and cross-border containers.
Inspection and loading zones will be included through automated tractor assignments. A connection to the Equipment Control System will enable weight verification during routine crane lifts, eliminating separate weighing stops.
Before a container is released for train loading, Ferrovalle’s TOS will confirm customs and documentation clearance. The Train Load Optimizer will then create plans based on available containers, train configuration, restrictions and clearance status, while planners retain the ability to make changes. The contract was signed in early September 2026.
