Global AGV launches two-tonne autonomous forklift

Global AGV’s new L20 increases autonomous forklift capacity by 600 kg while keeping the same width and height as the company’s existing models.

Global AGV launches two-tonne autonomous forklift

Global AGV has launched the L20, an autonomous forklift capable of handling loads of up to two tonnes. The Danish company developed the vehicle for customers seeking greater pallet capacity without a major increase in the space required for operation.

The L20 is based on the 1,400 kg L14 and raises lifting capacity by 40%, or 600 kg. Its width and height are unchanged, while its length increases by 12 cm. The compact format is intended to support deployment in production environments and densely arranged warehouses.

Applications include food manufacturing, where ingredients such as flour and butter may be delivered in heavy bulk bags. Global AGV says the vehicle can turn in confined areas and transfer pallets autonomously between locations, including dispatch areas.

Three L20 units are already operating at international production sites. Two are in Iceland, where they transport heavy pallets of fish. Global AGV is part of BILA Group.

The group’s automation approach is designed to remove repetitive forklift routes from operators’ work. Global AGV says the investment can, in some cases, pay back in under a year if two employees are reassigned to other duties. The L20 therefore offers higher throughput potential without requiring a substantial change to facility layouts.
