Geopost has brought 32 delivery professionals from 24 business units together in Warsaw for the fifth Delivery Excellence Challenge. Held on 16 and 17 September, the event tested the practical capabilities required to keep parcel operations safe and dependable.
The international competition used everyday delivery scenarios, including vehicle inspections, precision driving, route management, emergency response and customer experience. The format has expanded since its launch in 2022 into a group-wide exchange of operating practices.
Health and safety formed the starting point. Participants completed warm-ups and pre-departure checks before moving to driving and incident-response exercises. The programme also assessed eco-driving, including smooth acceleration, controlled braking and anticipation of road conditions.
All pickup and delivery tasks used electric vehicles. An electric truck was included for the first time in 2026, as Geopost links driver behaviour and fleet technology with its objective of reaching Net Zero by 2040.
Phil Coulter of DPD Ireland won the Pickup and Delivery category, while Mathias Klingebiel of DPD Germany took the Long-distance Transport title. Both also received Sustainability Special Awards. Safety awards went to Marek Janák and Marek Škorvánek of DPD Slovakia.
Geopost operates across more than 50 countries, employs 55,000 people and delivered 2.2 billion parcels in 2025.
