Jim Ryan, founder of Sentry Protection Products, discussed the issue with Peter MacLeod in Logistics Business Conversations. With nearly 30 years in warehouse protection systems, Ryan highlighted how a collision involving several tonnes of handling equipment can create consequences that are not immediately visible.
A single incident may affect employees, stock, productivity and the availability of a warehouse area, in addition to the directly damaged infrastructure. A highly rigid protection system may not always deliver the expected result if forces are transferred elsewhere in the structure.
