DP World takes charge of McIlroy’s international training logistics

DP World is to manage the international logistics supporting Rory McIlroy’s golf season under a new multi-year partnership. The company will move two customised fitness and recovery trailers between the golfer’s PGA Tour and DP World Tour events.

Its responsibilities will cover collection, customs clearance, storage and delivery, ensuring the equipment is available when McIlroy arrives at each tournament. The arrangement is intended to give the player and his team a consistent base for preparation despite frequent international travel.

The trailers include strength and cardio equipment, an infrared sauna, a cold plunge and a Hyperice recovery station. Together, the facilities allow McIlroy to maintain familiar training and recovery routines across different countries and time zones.

The agreement also appoints McIlroy as a Global Ambassador for DP World, while the logistics group becomes his exclusive global logistics and supply chain partner.

Yuvraj Narayan, DP World’s Group Chief Executive Officer, said the partnership applies the company’s experience in moving goods across borders to a high-profile, time-sensitive operation. Ganesh Raj, Global Chief Operating Officer for Marine Services, highlighted the need to connect transport, customs, storage and final delivery when schedules are fixed.

For industry, the project illustrates the value of managing a complete logistics chain rather than treating transport as an isolated activity. Mobile equipment and specialist assets face many of the same requirements: accurate planning, border compliance and dependable delivery at a defined location and time.
