Prologis wins approval for new Palletways UK headquarters

Prologis has secured unconditional planning permission for a new Palletways UK headquarters in Fradley, Staffordshire. The decision by Lichfield District Council allows the developer to move the project into delivery.

The facility is being developed as a Build-to-Suit project for Palletways, the express palletised freight network. Its design will reflect the company’s operational requirements and is intended to support future growth, improve the working environment and meet high sustainability standards.

No detailed automation specification has been released. However, a facility planned specifically for the operator should allow its layout and infrastructure to be aligned more closely with pallet handling, site movements and network expansion than a conventional warehouse.

Prologis said the scheme follows a shared vision of creating a headquarters with long-term value for the company and the local area. Further information is available from Prologis UK.

Palletways described the approval as a major step in its long-term UK investment and highlighted its 32-year presence in Lichfield. The company said the new headquarters is expected to benefit its people, customers and wider network. Its UK operation is outlined by Palletways UK.

Construction is expected to start in November 2026. The project will now progress from planning approval to delivery of a site intended to combine operational capacity with workplace and environmental priorities.
