Arvato Türkiye has commissioned a modular robotic sorter at its Platform S distribution centre in Istanbul, supporting ecommerce fulfilment for a global fashion retailer.
Supplied by Libiao Robotics and integrated with Lodamaster, the installation includes 66 autonomous sorting robots, 14 shuttle induction stations and 672 destinations. Its stated throughput is up to 3,700 items per hour.

The system was selected instead of a conventional conveyor-based design as Arvato made its first significant investment in warehouse automation at the site. The robots operate across a compact grid and independently move products to their assigned destinations.
The configuration is intended for the operational variability of fashion retail, including broad SKU ranges, changing order profiles, returns and seasonal peaks. It can handle garments of different sizes while fitting around Arvato Türkiye’s existing warehouse processes and layout.
Arvato expects the automation to support larger picking batches, reduce operator travel and manual handling, improve product flow and accelerate order fulfilment. The modular format also allows capacity to be expanded without replacing a complete fixed conveyor network.

From project concept to full go-live took about six months. The system achieved its target throughput three weeks after integration testing was completed, indicating a short deployment cycle for an active fulfilment operation.
For Arvato, the installation provides both immediate sorting capacity and a platform for future volume growth. The approach reflects a wider move among logistics operators toward automation that can be scaled in stages as customer demand changes.
