Linde Material Handling has expanded its explosion-protected electric forklift portfolio with the E14–E20 EX and E16–E20 P EX ranges. The three- and four-wheel counterbalanced trucks are certified for ATEX zones 1/21 and 2/22 and are available in 14 configurations with capacities up to two tonnes.
The launch targets industrial sites where flammable substances may be present, including battery, electric motor, semiconductor and electronic-waste recycling operations. Three-wheel models are intended for confined warehouses and production areas, while four-wheel versions provide additional stability on uneven surfaces.
Safety functions include an optional Reverse Assist Camera or Reverse Assist Radar. The camera uses AI to distinguish pedestrians from other objects and supports graduated braking with an audible warning. The radar evaluates vehicle speed, fork load, steering angle and obstacle distance, allowing it to reduce speed or stop the forklift.
The Linde MH Safety Guard system can automatically limit speed when a truck enters a defined ATEX zone. In zone 2/22, it can also provide mutual audible and visual warnings for forklifts approaching intersections. VertiLights, LED strips and projected red warning lines are available to improve visibility in narrow or poorly lit aisles.
For zone 1/21, the trucks use motors with special windings, higher insulation classes and temperature sensors integrated into the windings. Flame-proof housings protect electronic components without reducing driver visibility or legroom. A certified cabin heating system, with preheating and eight air outlets, is also available.
