Qatar Airways Cargo is to launch a weekly freighter service from Helsinki on 2 September, giving Finnish shippers a dedicated link to the airline’s Doha hub.
The Boeing 777 freighter will fly the Doha–Budapest–Helsinki–Doha rotation and provide 100 tonnes of export capacity from Helsinki each week. With seven existing weekly passenger services, total cargo capacity from the airport will exceed 170 tonnes per week. The passenger flights contribute more than 70 tonnes of belly-hold capacity weekly in each direction.
The added capacity is relevant to Finland’s high-value export base, which includes technology products, electronics, industrial machinery, spare parts, pharmaceuticals, healthcare goods, perishables and e-commerce shipments. Imports include electronics, consumer products, automotive components, industrial equipment and online-retail cargo.
Customers will be able to book through Qatar Airways Cargo’s digital platform and route shipments via Doha to markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia and Australia. Product options include TechLift, Pharma, Fresh and Courier.
Road Feeder Service partners will provide scheduled and ad hoc trucking to and from Helsinki across Scandinavia and the Baltic region, extending the air network into nearby markets. Further information is available from Qatar Airways Cargo.
